Locally grown, not flown

Our cut flower service is a small-scale, ethical flower growing project. From April to October, we grow and sell fresh, chemical-free flowers through posies, subscriptions, Pick Your Own days and workshops.

The vast majority of flowers sold in the UK are imported, often travelling thousands of miles. These flowers are typically grown in vast monocultures, treated with chemicals and stored in refrigerated warehouses and lorries before reaching you.
Garden Gate flowers are different.
Our flowers are:
- Grown right here in Margate
- Chemical-free and wildlife-friendly
- Picked fresh, in season
- Never flown or refrigerated for weeks
- Sold locally, directly from the garden

They are also grown as part of a project that supports the wellbeing, skills and confidence of adults with learning disabilities and mental health challenges.
